39-year-old South Bend man found guilty of murder

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office announced that 39-yrear-old Joseph Williams, of South Bend, has been found guilty of Murder, following the 2023 death of 39-year-old Martinez Tennell Lambert, of South Bend.
Willams was charged with one count of Murder, a felony, after stabbing Lambert on November 4, 2023.
According to the Detective Bureau in the Violent Crimes Unit, Lambert was on the phone with a witness who heard an argument, the phone dropping, and scuffling.
The witness then drove over to Beacon Heights Apartments, where he knew Lambert to be, and found his body on the ground.
Williams faces 45 to 65 years in prison.
Williams will be sentenced on June 12, 2024.
