After closure in 2020, YMCA reopens in downtown
NILES, Mich. – The 39th annual Niles-Buchanan YMCA Thanksgiving Day Run is still being held in 2020 despite the pandemic. This year the tradition will have an option for both in-person and virtual running.
The event will be limited to 1500 people in total, which has been broken down into five time slots for better social distancing.
Registration for these events is first-come, first-served and has a limit of 250 runners for each time.
The events start at 7:30 a.m. and will be spaced out by a half hour each.
The 1 Mile Fun Run goes starts from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. with a 250-person limit, meaning runners can arrive at their leisure during these times.
Virtual runners have a week to complete their event.
The event times are as follows:
- 10K Run – 7:30 AM (250 participant limit)
- 5K Run/Walk – 8:00 AM (250 participant limit)
- 5K Run/Walk – 8:30 AM (250 participant limit)
- 5K Run/Walk – 9:00 AM (250 participant limit)
- 5K Run/Walk – 9:30 AM (250 participant limit)
