3rd annual CAPS Superhero 5K, meet the first place runner and CAPS CEO

ELKHART, Ind. -

For the third year in a row, CAPS Superhero 5k in Downtown Elkhart has Michiana families dressing up as their favorite villain or superhero. 
ABC57 is proudly sponsoring this event along with a growing list of other sponsors.  
According to the CAPS Superhero 5K website the goal for 2017 is $20,000, right now they’re a little over $12,000. 
April is child abuse prevention month. The funds raised will be benefiting Child and Parent Services. 
The event is full of fun and music, but most importantly, the main goal is joining CAPS  in its mission of keeping children safe from abuse and neglect while encouraging strong families. 
CAPS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the cause of ensuring that every child in Elkhart County has the benefit of a safe, stable, nurturing relationships in their childhood.
With advocacy and intervention they work with other in the community to do just that.
