5 Inmates sue beer companies for alcoholism

Five inmates said alcohol is to blame for the crimes that got them locked up.

They're now suing some of the nation's top liquor and wine companies. The Idaho inmates want $1 billion from eight the largest beer, wine, and liquor companies in the world.

The inmates claim they started drinking as juveniles and didn’t know how addictive alcohol could be.

"I think for everyone it's automatic that alcohol is something that is addictive and it's something that lowers your inhibitions."

The defendants include Anheuser-Busch, Miller Brewing, and the makers of Jim Beam.
