$500,000 available in grants for Indiana community recycling project

Applications are now open for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management's Community Recycling Grant Program, which will distribute $500,000 worth of grant money to community recycling projects throughout the Hoosier state.

Counties, municipalities, schools, nonprofits, and more can apply to get $1,000 to $100,000 in funding.

Applications are open through October 6.

Projects that are eligible for funding should emphasize the education and promotion of efforts like recycling, waste reduction, or yard waste management.

The Community Recycling Grant Program is funded by the Department of Environmental Management's Solid Waste Management Fund.

Decisions on which projects get funding will be finalized by December.
