MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind.—Police have released 911 calls from the fatal school bus crash in Marshall County on December 5.
Marshall County Dispatch received multiple calls about the crash, detailing the location of the crash as well as stating that the bus had its flashers on when it was rear-ended.
13-year-old Owen Abbott died in the crash when a truck slammed into the school bus at a railroad crossing on US-31.
Abbott’s mother is suing Tylor Perry, the truck driver, and the company who owns the truck, National Rent-A-Fence Co.
The suit claims Perry was driving carelessly and broke traffic laws when he failed to stop behind the bus at the railroad crossing.
A second lawsuit was filed on December 21 by the mother of Krista Despot, a young student also injured in the crash.
