ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart County Parks is offering a dog sledding class in partnership with Heartland Mushers Association on Nov. 21.

Taking place from 1-3 p.m., the dog sledding lessons will cover the basics of dryland mushing.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their dogs to see if they have what it takes to mush through training techniques and try out a temporary dryland trail.

The event costs $10 per person, and is open to everyone 12 years old and up. Registration must be completed by Nov. 20 at elkhartcountyparks.org.

Dogs need to be at least 15 pounds and on a leash (6 feet and under) to participate.

The group will meet at the Benton Dam site in River Preserve County Park at 68550 County Road 31.
