A foot behind

After a relatively snow free start to meteorological winter, Mother Nature began to make up for it.

Many folks were dreaming of a white Christmas and just days after, Michiana was blanketed in snow.

Despite several one day shots of accumulating snow, South Bend is still well below normal in terms of snowfall.

Over a foot below normal to be exact!

And here is a rare statistic:  lake effect prone South Bend has received less snow this winter than Fort Wayne and Indianapolis!

It looks like we will stay below those cities and our normal for a while as there are no big snowstorms in the forecast for the next 10 days.
