Milder but wetter conditions this weekend
The gloomy conditions start today as clouds and areas of dense fog are present this morning. In fact, a Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for everyone except Berrien, Cass, and LaPorte counties until 1 PM today. Drizzle is possible, especially along and south of Hwy 30, throughout the morning with more defined rain showers sweeping in late this afternoon and evening. Periods of moderate to even heavy rain are likely overnight and Monday, creating some concern for flooding. Be mindful that runoff and possible ice jams can cause water to rise along rivers and flood prone areas by Monday night and Tuesday.
As the cold front moves through Michiana Monday night, expect remaining light rain showers to switch to snow for Tuesday and some of Tuesday night. Accumulations should stay on the low side, with a few of us seeing 1” at the most as of now.
Today: Cloudy with areas of dense fog, AM drizzle and PM light rain. High of 42.
Tonight: Cloudy with periods of rain. Patchy fog possible. Low of 41 with temps steady or slowing climbing.
Monday: Periods of moderate or heavy rain. Patchy fog possible. High of 50.
Tuesday: Snow showers. Highs in the low 30s.
