NOW: A look at Indiana bills that are moving forward

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indiana has many proposed bills, with some moving forward and others taking the backseat.

Senate Bill 76 is based on immigration enforcement in Indiana. Local police and law enforcement must cooperate with ICE when they ask to hold someone. If they fail to comply, local government could lose state funding. This bill was proposed by Senator Liz Brown and was passed by the Senate, now moving to the House.

Another bill to note is SB 15, the Foster Youth Bill of Rights that requires the Department of Child Services to publish and frequently update a foster youth bill of rights that explains the rights and responsibilities of youth in foster care. The bill's primary author is Senator Kyle Walker, and it was passed in the Senate and now moves to the House.

Some other bills that have sparked debate on social media have already taken a backseat in the General Assembly. One of those bills would have required an age verification for children under 16 to access social media.

Some bills that are moving forward have Hoosiers across the state reacting. Senate Bill 27 would create a new state entity called the "Northwest Indiana Stadium Authority." This legislation was recently passed unanimously in the appropriations committee and would lay the groundwork for a possible NFL stadium.

Another is SB21 that doesn't require taxes, funding or a policy change! This bill would make the breaded tenderloin sandwich as the official sandwich of Indiana; this bill was passed in the Senate and now moves to the House for consideration.
