GREENSBORO, NC. -- The Duke Blue Devils beat the Notre Dame women’s basketball team in the ACC tournament semifinals on Saturday, 61-56.
It was the lowest scoring output of the season for the Irish.
Despite the low offensive totals and shooting inconsistency’s, Head Coach Niele Ivey prioritized the importance of defensive cohesion in their postgame press conference.
She added that the Irish did not play up to their standards, and that the defense needed fixing when they got back to practice.
Despite the loss, the Irish will still likely find themselves in the 64-team NCAA tournament, which kicks off on March 21st.
Duke would go on to beat NC State on Sunday in the ACC title game 76-62.
