A new Hilton hotel is coming to Mishawaka

After Honkers closed its doors in July, plans were already in the works for a business to take over the spot. Now, we’re learning what business will move in.

White Lodging, a hotel management company, gained ownership of the Mishawaka property. They’re building a Hilton “Home2 Suites” hotel.

The President and CEO of White Lodging’s Investment and Development team says since Mishawaka is continuing to grow, they thought the location was perfect. It’s also less than three miles away from Notre Dame and twenty minutes from the South Bend airport.

The new hotel will bring in a lot of business and more jobs for the Michiana community.

Some of the hotel’s amenities include an oversized gym, indoor pool, a complimentary breakfast with more than four-hundred meal combinations, easy access to the internet and it’s pet-friendly.

There will be one-hundred and twenty-six suites in the four story building.

Construction is scheduled to be completed by early fall 2017. Their goal is to open the hotel just in time for Notre Dame's football season.
