A reminder to change your clocks and test your smoke alarms for Daylight Saving Time

The International Association of Fire Fighters reminds everyone to change their clocks and test their smoke alarms this upcoming Sunday.

Daylight Saving Time begins this upcoming Sunday at 2 a.m. and it's not just a time to readjust clocks but also to test and change home smoke alarms.

Nearly two-thirds of all home fire deaths occur in homes with no working smoke alarm, stated the association, firefighters recommend replacing any smoke alarm that is older than ten years old.

For maximum safety, officials recommend installing a combination photoelectric or ionization smoke alarm outside of every bedroom and on each floor of your home.
