A taste of Flavor 574: Fat Tuesday, brunch and souper bowl

Flavor 574's Marshall King joined Emily and Drew on ABC57 News to discuss the latest food news in Michiana. This week he discussed Fat Tuesday, brunch at the Carriage House, and the souper bowl.

Fat Tuesday
This year on Fat Tuesday The Chicory Cafe in South Bend will have drink specials, music, beads and beignets.

Carriage House Brunch
Owner Joshua Bishop said he and others on staff are finally ready to try brunch this weekend. The goal was to offer items that don't break the bank, but that the kitchen can produce without compromising the quality of the fine dining tradition at the restaurant.

Prices range from $10 to $25 an item.

Items include:

  • Potato and kale frittatta ($13)
  • Shrimp in grits with wild gulf shrimp, organic maize, white cheddar foam and fried okra ($18)
  • The Carriage House's take on chicken and waffles with bourbon glaze and Tabasco butter ($19)

Souper bowl
Since the Super Bowl is coming up, Flavor 574 decided to have the Souper Bowl.

Here are the top three Souper Bowl teams that made their playoffs.

  • Beefy Tomato Soup
  • Creamy Potato Soup
  • Cheesy Chicken Enchilada Soup
