AAA predicts 1.2 percent travel increase

If you're planning a holiday trip, you're not alone.

AAA expects more than 34 million American to hit the road and airways over Memorial Day weekend. That's up just slightly from last year.

There is some good news for drivers. Gas prices have dropped in the past week.

"Well thank goodness. I'd be more excited if I thought it was something that was going to last," saod Kay Williams, a traveler.

"We're seeing the prices go down so I'm thinking that traveling would be more enjoyable with the prices where they are," said Diane Clemons, another traveler.

The national average for a gallon of unleaded is $3.68.
