ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart Police Department has implemented a unit of 30 officers to help mitigate injury or death when dealing with both violent offenders and someone who is experiencing a mental health crisis.
They have many less lethal options available and are continuously training and adding new equipment to help meet the mission.
Byrna Technologies and Bruzer are two companies in Indiana are creating less lethal launchers to help police meet that mission.
