ABC57's Tom Coomes takes part in U93's Roofsit

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- ABC57's meteorologist Tom Coomes sat in the hot seat  for a few hours as part of U93's annual roofsit.

"It all stays right here in this community and goes back to the different programs to help event child abuse and also help rehabilitate once child abuse has happened whether it be with the children or the parents," Rob Sparks, U93 morning host, said.

The annual event to raise money to help victims of abuse is being held at the Martin's Supermarket on the corner of Ironwood and S.R. 23. The roofsit runs through Friday.

The event has raised more than $1.8 million raised throughout its history.
