Accident, fuel spill close intersection in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. --- Police and crews, including the South Bend Fire Department Hazmat team, worked to clean up a crash scene involving a fuel spill Thursday morning.
Police say the crash happened shortly before 11:00 a.m. at the intersection of Sample Street and Lafayette Boulevard.
According to police, a tow truck was hit by another vehicle which caused the tow truck to leak a substantial amount of diesel fuel.
The fuel spill was cleaned up and the intersection was reopened Thursday afternoon.
