Accumulating lake effect snow and gusty wind Monday

NOW: Accumulating lake effect snow and gusty wind Monday

IMPACTFUL ACCUMULATING LAKE EFFECT SNOW AND WIND MONDAY

Early this morning, a rain/snow mix will turn to all snow. Snow begins to accumulate as the morning progresses.

Late this morning, there could be bursts of heavy snow, creating low visibility.

Snow showers continue this afternoon, but showers are lighter compared to the morning. The evening commute may be more impactful than the morning commute, because of wind gusts 40+ mph. This will create blowing/drifting snow, and low visibility during the evening commute.

Roads will be slick and snow covered, with temperatures falling through the low 30s this afternoon and evening. Certain areas could pick up over 4" of snow today.

Wind begins to die down overnight. A few more snow showers are possible through sunrise Tuesday morning, so the Tuesday morning commute could also be a little slow going. The rest of Tuesday, the weather is cool but quieter.

Temperatures warm into the 40s starting Wednesday.

There could be a round of rain showers Thursday night into Friday.

Another round of rain is possible Christmas Eve Sunday into Christmas morning.

Today: Wind/lake effect snow. High 35.

Tonight: Snow showers. Breezy. Low 24.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy. High 34.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy. High 41.
