UPDATE: One shot near Monroe Elementary School Monday night

UPDATE: On Tuesday, the South Bend Police Department released more information on a shooting that wounded one person on South Bend’s southeast side Monday night.
SBPD says around 5:25 p.m., they were called to the 300 block of E. Donmoyer Avenue on the report of a shooting in the parking lot of Monroe Elementary School.
"When officers arrived, they were unable to find a victim in the lot but were quickly directed to the area of Fellows Street and Klinger Avenue, where a victim was located," SBPD. "The adult male victim was transported to the hospital to receive treatment – his wounds are considered non-life-threatening."
Authorities say, despite its proximity to the school, this incident is not believed to have involved anyone from Monroe, which dismissed students three hours before the shooting.
"This remains an active and ongoing investigation by the South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit," SBPD said. "Anyone with information is encouraged to leave an anonymous tip with Michiana Crime Stoppers by calling 574-288-STOP."
