UPDATE (12:13 a.m.): The Mishawaka Police Department confirms that at approximately 8:44 p.m. they responded to a report of a gunshot victim in the 200 North block of Indiana Ave.
Inital reports indicated that a baby had been shot, but upon arrival officers found that to inaccurate.
A victim was discovered inside the residence and is confirmed to be pronounced dead at the scene.
The Mishawaka Police Department state that to ensure the integrity of the investigation evidence collected will not be released at this time.
This is an active investigation.

UPDATE (9:53 p.m.): Attendees of the Mishawaka High School Girl's Basketball Game were temporarily put on a secure, a protocol used to safeguard people within the building, out of an abundance of caution until law enforcement deemed that it was safe to leave.
Guests are said to be safe to leave at this time according to Mishawaka Athletic Director Mark Polsgrove.
ORIGINAL: MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- There is an active police presence in the 200 block of Indiana Ave in Mishawaka for reports of a shooting incident.
It is asked that people currently avoid that area while the scene is still active.
