A few inches of snow for Black Friday
MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- A persistent mist this morning after a decent rainfall overnight is the beginning of what could be an active period of weather ahead.
Drought is still ongoing across all of Michiana, but we are finally entering a pattern more conducive to precipitation.
Severe drought is still in place for most of the Indiana counties, but moderate drought is more common north of the state line.
Last night's rain brought between a quarter and half inch of rain.
This is bringing the November rainfall total so far close to two inches, which is already above average for this point in the month.
It will take a while before the rainfall overcomes the fall deficit, but signs point to a more active pattern to end the month of November.
Next week itself looks to be pretty wet at times, and potentially even snowy.
As we approach winter, drought becomes less of a problem. However, rainfall is still needed to help erode or erase drought as a whole.
In other words, typical fall weather is on the way to end the month of November, and a hint of winter is possible too.
