An inside look at The Elkhart County 4-H fair

The Elkhart County 4-H Fair is well underway and families have been taking advantage of all the fun.

Families flock to the fairgrounds in Goshen every year for many different reasons.

“So far it’s been the eating, probably yeah, we love to eat,” said the Robbins family, from Warsaw.

Smoker Craft Fishing Boats uses the fair as a base for their company’s reunions.

“We’re here for the fair of course and for our company we are having a company reunion we have it every year here,” said Andy Wolf, one of Smoker Craft’s employees.

One vendor, who has been in business since 1963, gets the whole family involved every year, young and old.

“We put them all in the cinnamon sugar and we sugar them with a basket and then we put them in a bag and hand them out,” said Roya, whose family owns the business.

ABC 57 got to take a ride on a six-horse hitch all around the fair. And it was a bumpy one.

But every fairgoer said their main reason for being here is for their family.

“We just come every year just to just enjoy the food and the atmosphere,” said the Goss Family from Elkhart.

Stay with ABC 57 this weekend and next week for continuing coverage of the fair.
