BERRIEN SPRINGS, Mich. – Berrien Springs’ Andrews University broke ground on their multi-million dollar health and wellness center on Monday.
The new facility will be about 76,000 square feet and contain a swimming pool, basketball courts, and an advanced fitness area.
Alumni and local corporations raised $17.5 million for the construction of wellness area.
"The campaign to raise that much money for us was five years. And so, we've been talking about this for a long time. It's like - we've heard it, show it to us. And now we will." David Faehner, Andrews University VP for advancement said.
Students and community members will be able to purchase memberships for the new center.
The building is set to open in Fall 2019.
