Animal sanctuary worker killed by big cat

SHERWOOD, Oreg. -- A young mother and caregiver at Wild Cats Sanctuary in Oregon died when the animals she cared for attacked her.

Deputies found Renee Radziwon Chapman's body inside the big cats enclosure. They are investigating how Chapman ended up inside the sanctuary.

Deputies say she was dead by the time they got there.

"This is a remote area. They were concerned walking in they told me it was risky and felt like it was risky," said Sergeant Robert Wurpes.

Radziwon Chapman’s family describes her as a devoted wife, mother and advocate for animals. She leaves behind a 6 month old daughter.
