Another Louisiana chemical plant explodes, kills one

DONALDSONVILLE, La. — One person is dead and seven others are injured after second plant explosion in Louisiana.  The chemical plant exploded Friday night only a few miles from where another chemical plant exploded on Thursday.

Police say the second blast happened as workers were pumping nitrogen gas.

"We had nitrogen on the vessel," said plant manager Louis Frey. "While supplying that nitrogen, a particular header or small vessel ruptured."

The Thursday explosion killed two people. Investigators say they are not related.
