Apple quietly starts recycling program for old gadgets

SAN FRANCISCO --  Got an old iPhone sitting in the closet collecting dust? If so, then Apple wants your old phone.

Apple has quietly introduced a recycling program on their website.

They are offering to buy up old iPhones for hundreds of dollars of credit.

Instead of the old trade-in deal, people can now swap  their old iPhone, Mac, or iPad into Apple directly.

To get the Apple credit, users must answer a few questions online about their phones' condition. Then an estimate of a trade is generated.

The offer is only available online.
