It’s Comic Book Day, comic book stores and specialty shops are offering special events -- and of course free comic books.

Free Comic Book Day is held annually on the first Saturday in May. It began in 2002 as part of a promotional effort by the North American comic book industry.

• Secret Door Games LLC located at 215 S. Main St. in Elkhart, Indiana
• Khahan’s Americana located at 522 S. Main St. in Elkhart, Indiana
• Hero comics at 732 S. 11^th Street Suite 220 in Niles, Michigan
• Super Geeks Gaming at 322 N. Detroit St. in Warsaw, Indiana
