Area ice rinks still in weather-related delay from opening

SOUTH BEND, Ind -- The weather has been all kinds of wrong for people who work at Howard Park's ice rink in South Bend.
The rink wanted to be open by now but can't make ice, and if the rain turns to snow, they still can't make ice.
Employees at the rink say they need a cloudy and cool day that is rain and snow free to make the ice. They’re hoping to be up and running this weekend.
Elkhart also hopes to get its outdoor ice rink open this weekend as well.
