Area students gear up to fight hunger

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Students across Michiana are getting together to hep fight hunger.
ABC57 got a peak at the Student Hunger Drive.
It is a campaign to collect and donate food for the Food Bank of Northern Indiana by area high school students.
The events start next Friday with a poverty awareness breakfast and will go until mid-November.
This food drive also instills a sense of community and volunteering for students.
Last year, they donated 5.8 million pounds of food.
