Michigan State Trooper opens fire on suspect in Benton Harbor
ELKHART, Ind.—According to Elkhart City Police, a disagreement between two brothers turned violent Sunday afternoon, leaving one with gunshot wounds.
Officers were dispatched to the corner of 11th Street and Wolf Avenue shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday for reports of a person with a gunshot wound.
Authorities say a 35-year-old man was shot in his left arm and left leg and was transported by medics to Elkhart General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Officers determined that the shooting took place inside a residence in the 1700 block of S. 11th St. and believe the incident was a domestic altercation between family members.
The suspect, who authorities believe to be the victim’s brother, was taken into police custody.
