Armed home invasion leads to police chase in Three Rivers
THREE RIVERS, Mich. – Two people were arrested after allegedly committing a robbery and then leading police on a two-vehicle chase on Tuesday, the Three Rivers Police Department reported.
At 3:50 a.m., officers were called to a robbery in the 400 block of 8th Avenue. While officers were investigating the scene, deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office found the suspect vehicle and tried to stop it.
The vehicle left the area and was later stopped on N. River Road near Hebron Road in Mottville Township, reports said.
The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old woman from Sturgis, was taken into custody.
The passenger, a 28-year-old man from Sturgis, left the scene on foot, according to reports.
The man then allegedly stole a vehicle from a business on Hebron Road and initiated a chase that went into Cass County and ended when the suspect crashed on U.S. 12 near Five Points Road, reports said.
The man was taken to the hospital for medical treatment before being taken into custody.
