ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Police Department reports officers responded to a robbery in progress call around 9:55 a.m. Thursday at the Horizon Bank at 1909 E. Bristol Street.
Police say the initial investigation indicates the suspect handed an employee a note demanding money.
After officers arrived, employees safely exited the building.
The man didn't display weapons, authorities said.
The suspect was taken into custody around 10:19 a.m., and no injuries were reported.
Police believe this to be an isolated incident, and that there's no further danger to the public.
The case will be forwarded to the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office for review of formal criminal charges.
Authorities will release the suspect’s name if and when a judicial officer finds probable cause for his arrest and sets a bond amount.
