Australians helping baby with Down syndrome
AUSTRALIA --- There is finally a happy ending for a baby that has been at the center of an international controversy.
An Australian couple hired a Thai woman to carry their baby.
After the Thai woman got pregnant, it was discovered that she was going to have twins and that one of the babies had Down syndrome.
The Australian couple decided they only wanted the healthy baby, which left the Thai mother with numerous medical bills.
Upon hearing this, Australians began to pour money into a fund to help the woman and the baby with Down syndrome.
"Thank you so much. I have no words for this. Everyone is very generous. I can't say anything but thank you, thank you very much," said the surrogate mother Pattharomon Janbua.
So far the donations have reached over $150,000.
