Authorities find two people battered in South Bend Thursday morning

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- After initial reports circulated of a stabbing in South Bend Wednesday morning, it has now been confirmed that the two victims who were located in the 24000 block of Fillmore Road were badly battered, but there were no signs of stab wounds. 

The St. Joseph County Police Department says the call came in just after 8 a.m. on July 17, and, when officers arrived, they located two individuals with physical injuries.

The two individuals were taken to the hospital and the severity of their injuries remains unknown at this time. 

The investigation is active and ongoing.
