Barbershop fire erupts early Monday morning, no reported injuries

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Fire Department reports crews responded to a fire at Dons and Divas Barbershop at 2124 W. Western Ave. around 5:30 a.m. Monday morning.

Officials say smoke was seen coming from the building.

Western Avenue and Carlisle Street were closed for a few hours while crews dealt the fire but have since reopened.

Firefighters stretched lines and entered the building and completed a search. Nobody was found inside.

Fire officials say they got the fire under control in 15 to 20 minutes. and no injuries have been reported.

Crews remained on scene and for a time. The fire remains under investigation.

Patricia Ann Florist next door received smoke damage but is still operable.
