Barking dog alerts Osceola family to house fire

OSCEOLA, Ind. — A family is safe Monday morning after their dog alerted them that the house was on fire.

Fire crews were called to home in the 300 bock of East Walnut around 3:45 Monday morning.

The family was able to get out of the home after their dog started barking. 

Fire officials say that the family was treated for smoke inhalation but they are all expected to be okay.

The house is believed to be a total loss.
