Beloved Michigan lake dries up after dam fails

ISABELLA COUNTY, Mich. -- Michigan's Windoga Lake used to be a hot spot for boating and fishing. Now it's a muddy mess!

Two weeks ago, a 50-year-old dam failed and caused Isabella County Lake to dry up!

The property association said that it could take weeks to fix and get the water flowing again.

"We want to make sure everything is done.   So that there's no danger, so there's very little possibility of a dam failure again," said David Washburn of the Ojibwa Property Owners Association.

The property association is working with the DNR and the Department of Environmental Quality to fix the dam.
