Ben's Soft Pretzel expanding to Walmarts in Indiana

ELKHART, Ind. -- Ben's Soft Pretzels is a local mom and pop shop that has been very successful. The company that started at Concord Mall in Elkhart will now be in several Walmart stores across the state.



Elkhart City Councilman David Henke says the key word in all of this is progress.

Since the recession 5 years ago, Elkhart was hit hard with economic uncertainty.

But he says businesses like Ben's Soft Pretzel's are a good example of the city turning things around.



“I think Elkhart has been able to better weather the storms of economic downturns only because we’ve had those risk-takers, those entrepreneurs that have demand and are creative," said Henke.
