BENTON HARBOR, Ind.- The city of Benton Harbor may ask the state of Michigan for a $2.5 million dollar grant to renovate and reopen the old Bobo Brazil Community Center.
The decaying building has been vacant for about 15 years-- with broken and boarded up windows.
It was named after Benton Harbor native and professional wrestling legend, Bobo Brazil - who passed away in 1998.
It was originally built in 1926 as an armory for the U.S. naval reserves.
The city hopes to hold youth sports and education programs, high speed broadband access and activities for seniors.
