BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- The Benton Harbor Arts Association is inviting the community to the Benton Harbor Children’s Art Fair this Saturday where over 20 vendors will be creating an atmosphere of color, creativity, and connection.

Originally launched nearly 20 years ago, the Children’s Art Fair returned in 2024 after a 10-year-old break.

Organizers say they expect over 1,000 attendees, 20+ vendors, and will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Art’s Park at the corner of Water Street and Territorial.

The fair will feature live performances, art demonstrations by local artists, interactive art stations for hands-on creativity, opportunities for students to display their artwork and win prizes..

"This free, family-friendly celebration is designed to uplift and showcase the incredible talents of our community’s young artists. Attendees can enjoy vibrant student art displays, live musical performances, and hands-on creative experiences at a variety of interactive art stations," organizers said.

"Local artists will also be present offering demonstrations, and young participants will have the chance to win exciting prizes for their work."

On top of the art fair, there will be free food as well as food trucks and community resources.

"Whether you're an art lover, a proud parent, or just looking for a fun Saturday activity, the Benton Harbor Children’s Art Fair offers something for everyone," organizers said.

"Come out and celebrate the imagination and talent of our local youth, while enjoying a day filled with art, music, food, and community."

Students and/or parents can fill out an online registration form to submit student artwork.

“We are happy to bring this event back, and we are extremely thankful for the support of our local businesses," said BHAA Board President Bethany Cubbage. "Celebrating our youth is important, and we’re happy to celebrate them!"
