Benton Harbor community mourns loss of revered Pastor

People in Benton Harbor are coping with the unexpected death of beloved pastor Rev. Emery Verrie.
To them, Verrie wasn't just a pastor. He was a leader.
There's been an outpouring of condolences and grief on social media.
Varrie has been pastor at pilgrim rest missionary baptist church for more than 30 years.
He was also president of the Benton township housing commission and president of the south western Michigan ministers alliance
He was also a father figure to many.
