Benton Harbor gets new financial manager

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- A Michigan emergency loan board just appointed a new Emergency Financial Manager for the city of Benton Harbor.

The board tapped Tony Saunders to take the helm on February 1st.

He will replace Joseph Harris.

The board thanked Harris for his work, but said it was time to take the city in a new direction to deal with its financial problem.

Saunders previously worked as a financial advisor for the city of Highland Park.
