Benton Harbor proposed special assessment deadline approaches

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. – Monday marks the deadline for the public to have their say on the proposed special assessment in Benton Harbor.
If 10 percent of land owners sign a petition, the assessment can be appealed and voted on.
The special assessment will cost $7.50 for every $1,000 of property value owned in Benton Harbor.
