Benton Harbor shooting injures 13-year-old and 16-year-old

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – A 13-year-old and 16-year-old suffered gunshot wounds on the 100 block of Fair Street on Monday night, Benton Charter Township Police said.

Officers were dispatched to the area for reports of a shooting around 11:41 pm on Monday. Police were told that three people had been shot, but once they arrived, they only found two victims.

The victims, a 13-year-old and a 16-year-old from Benton Harbor, were transported to the hospital for their injuries. The 16-year-old suffered serious injuries to his stomach, while the 13-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to his ankle, according to officers.

The suspect’s description is unknown at this time, officers said.
