A Benton Harbor store manager is in jail due to embezzlement charges.
The Van Buren County Sheriff's Department says 44-year-old Kevin Michael Burger is accused of altering store sales records and embezzling money.
Burger was fired from the Myers Super Value Store on M-152 when sales records showed there was $20,000 missing.
A "No Trespass" notice was put in place, but Burger returned to the store to take over a year's worth of sales records, and shut off the refrigeration compressors for the frozen food, ruining the food inside.
Burger has been charged with embezzlement, breaking and entering with intent, larceny from a building, and malicious destruction of property.
