Berrien Community Foundation donates $50K for emergency book fund at LMC

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- Lake Michigan College announced local nonprofit, the Berrien Community Foundation, has donated $50,000 toward an emergency book fund.
LMC reports its students are currently facing severe financial hardship and having difficulty buying books for classes.
This large donation will contribute to the creation of an emergency book fund for the 2025-26 school year.
“With the help of generous donors who are dedicated to removing barriers to student success, we are able to work with Lake Michigan College to help financially struggling students with books and materials they need,” said BCF President Lisa Cripps-Downey. “At BCF we are always looking for ways to help our community. Partnering with LMC to prepare our residents for success in the workforce is a wonderful way to help.”
LMC students wishing to utilize the emergency book fund can apply online and email Susan Eastman at [email protected] with any questions.
