Berrien County Health Department to hold Wellness Fair for students

The Berrien County Health Department is holding a wellness fair on August 22 where students can get free hearing and vision screenings, immunizations, snacks and giveaways.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 2149 E. Napier Avenue in Benton Harbor.

In addition to the screenings, immunizations, health snacks and giveaways, there will be information about WIC, parenting education and several other programs and services for Berrien County families.

Representatives from local law enforcement, including Benton Charter Township Fire and Police, St. Joseph City Police, and the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department will be at the event to continue building positive relationships between police departments and the community, allowing kids the opportunity to see inside police cars and a fire truck.

“We know that the back to school season is a busy time for everyone, but the Berrien County Health Department is committed to helping make your life easier, happier and healthier,” said Clinical and Community Health Services Manager, Peggy Hamel.
