Berrien County students host MLK Jr. Day celebration, 'Breaking the Silence'

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. - Students across Berrien County will host the 2nd Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration via Zoom and radio on January 16 starting at 1 p.m.

The event, hosted by Benton Harbor Team Solutions/BEST Early, features students in Berrien County schools highlighting notable moments in Dr. King's speeches.

Participating students choose their favorite clips, share why they chose those clips, and explain why that speech is relevant to them.

Listeners can also participate in trivia for the chance to win giveaways and gift cards.

This year's theme, "Breaking the Silence", is inspired by Dr. King's writings and speeches, and is a call for communities to speak up on important topics.

The event will air on WVBH, 105.3 FM at 1 p.m.

Audiences can also watch the event on Zoom, using meeting ID (829 4365 5817) and passcode (110740). Viewers are asked to join the Zoom by 12:55 p.m.
