SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- The local bias crime bill advocates are hosting an informational briefing opportunity about the Senate Bill 12 on Sunday.
From 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. a panel of officials, students, and coalition members will help guide the hate crime bill conversation in the Center for Social Concerns at Geddes Hall at the University of Notre Dame.
South Bend Common Council member Jo Broden says she hopes it will benefit the community on a local level.
"Connected at a local level, we as a council thought it would be good to reaffirm some of our sentiments as a form for resolution and to do that in a timely way," Broden said.
Broden says they will share what's packed in the bill, including the legislative process, and its opportunities and challenges.
